The Fort Street Brewery opened on Valentine's Day 2005. It was the culmination of a long-time dream of owner Pete Romain (pictured
center left with former Lincoln Park Mayor Steve Brown and current mayor Frank Vaslo). Pete chose Lincoln Park after reading
in The Michigan Beer Guide that the city wished for someone to open a brewpub. The location selected was an empty lot that
at one time or another had been a pharmacy, diner, farm, and the boyhood home of Preston Tucker. Fort Street Brewery believes
in offering good, affordable food and great beer in an atmosphere where anyone can feel comfortable
day or night.
